Finally back!

hello...
it's been a long long time since i posted here.. very sorry... anyway, more pics of my france trip has been uploaded at http://www.kelvinseow.com

What have I been up to? I've just finished my 1 week of ICT (in-camp training).. it's been like 4-5 years since i've last worn a uniform, and the last time I've been outfield charging up hills was in 1999! as expected, i have forgotten nearly everything that I had learned in OCS.. feel really embarrassed. More about my experience some other day!

Day 6 : Paris

Our last full day in Paris before we take a train out... we'll be going to Tours/Loire Valley area, then driving to Normandy! Should be fun!

Anyway, today, wen and I walked to Marais again to get our favourite sandwich, plus brownie with nuts! oh but before that, we visited the Picasso museum. Shuwen had to pay the adult fare bec the person insisted on seeing a passport or something to show that she's under 25. Anyway, the works exhibited there are definitely easier to appreciate than those at the Louvre... probably because they are more contemporary?

me having lunch...

went back again to get this chocolate brownie-like cake with nuts! It melts in your mouth, not in your hands!

Found some gelato... wow I didnt know it could taste so good.. very unlike those you find in singapore... our flavour was creme caramel. For 3 EUR, we had a cup full of yummy italian gelato!

This is the shop...

This is the 2nd time we are seeing the guy in white at this bridge on different days. Why is he so special? because he acts like a senile man by putting on a smile all the time.. his somewhat dirty clothes contrasts with the Leica around his arms.. apparantly he is doing some series i think purely on this bridge, and his style is to observe for a very long time before a quick snap of his shutter..

Saw a lot of children playing at this playground in St Germain, so went in for a sit. We sat beside this cute looking boy heh..

more girls playing...

Finally, our last dinner at this chinese/thai restaurant located just round the corner from our apartment.. we've had 3 dinners at this place, and the owner is very hospitable. She even treated us to watermelon at the end of the dinner, knowing that it'd be our last one there!

Day 5 : Paris

pple renovating their house

this blind man asked for our help to support him while he walked to his apartment for the visually impaired.

More french kids... they sure look good on camera!

Waiting for the RER to Versailles

Versailles! unfortunately the flowers will not bloom till about 3 weeks later... and some of the monuments are somewhat "faded".. it's like some of the attractions at Sentosa ;p (Asian Village etc hehe) and it was a hot and sunny day! good for a tan though...

Day 4 : Paris

School children on an excursion trip

Eiffel Tower

This girl kept crying all the way up to the 2nd tier of the tower!

Me at the 2nd tier... we originally wanted to climb the stairs but the queue we were on was only for the lift, so wen and I decided to get the tickets to go all the way up to the top!

Cirque du Soleil! yeah! Quidam will be showin in singapore soon!

At the Invalides

They were having some kind of parade rehearsal at the square of Invalides

Out of Invalides, walking towards the Seine

Champs Elysees... very professional looking photo store...

Louis Vuitton shop! As usual there were some PRC pple going around asking pple to help them buy LV stuff...

Arc de Triomphe

A rare St Bernard dog

Day 3 : Paris

Louvre museum

Mona Lisa! ok i couldnt realli appreciate the rest of the art works there..

There was this very interesting street performer at St Germain. He saw wen taking his picture and gamely took out a measuring tape to mimic a camera to take her picture! This was what she caught...
